Car & ferry – The easiest way

Bohus Malmön is located just off the mainland and is reached via a free car ferry from Tullboden, which departs every half hour and takes only a few minutes.

If you are coming from Gothenburg, you drive E6 northbound until you turn off the road 162 towards Kungshamn, then follow the signs to Bohus MalmöThe road goes through a classic Bohuslän landscape with cliffs, fjords and small communities, so take the opportunity to enjoy the view during the trip!

Parking: If you don't want to take the car across by ferry, you can park at Tullboden and take the ferry. as a pedestrian or by bicycle.

Public transport – Convenient but requires planning

If you are traveling without a car, you can take the train to Uddevalla station and then take a bus towards Kungshamn. At the bus stop Hallinden you change to the local bus that goes directly to Customs house.

At Tullboden you jump on the ferry that takes you across to Bohus Malmö. During the summer months the buses run relatively frequently, but during the low season it is recommended to check timetables in advance.

If you are traveling with own boat is there one well-equipped guest harbor on the island, where you can dock and enjoy Malmö from the sea. The guest harbour offers moorings, shower, toilet and possibility to refill water and electricity.
